Setting Up Business Email on Android

Method 1 — Using the Gmail App (Recommended)

The Gmail app supports IMAP accounts from any provider, not just Google.

1. Open the Gmail app
2. Tap your profile picture → Add another account
3. Select Other
4. Enter your email address (e.g., info@yourdomain.co.ke) → Next
5. Select Personal (IMAP)
6. Enter your password → Next

Incoming server settings:

IMAP Server: mail.yourdomain.co.ke
Port: 993
Security: SSL/TLS

Outgoing server settings:

SMTP Server: mail.yourdomain.co.ke
Port: 587
Security: STARTTLS
Require sign-in: Yes
Username: your full email address
Password: your email password

1. Tap Next → set sync frequency → Next
2. Give the account a name → Done

Method 2 — Using Samsung Email / Built-in Email App

1. Open Settings → Accounts → Add Account → Email
2. Enter your email and password
3. If auto-setup fails, tap Manual Setup
4. Select IMAP
5. Enter the same server settings as above

Testing Your Setup

Send a test email from your computer to your phone. It should arrive within 1–2 minutes. If not, verify:

• Port 993 is used for incoming (not 143)
• Port 587 is used for outgoing (not 25)
• SSL/TLS is enabled for incoming
• STARTTLS is enabled for outgoing

Sending from Your Domain Address

After setup, when composing a new email, tap the From field and select your domain email address to send from your professional address.
