How to Set Up an Email Autoresponder (Out-of-Office Reply)

Setting Up an Email Autoresponder
An autoresponder automatically sends a reply to anyone who emails you. Common uses: out-of-office messages, business hours notices, and acknowledgement emails for enquiries.
Step 1 — Open Autoresponders in cPanel
- Log into cPanel
- Go to Email → Autoresponders
- Click Add Autoresponder
Step 2 — Configure the Autoresponder

| Interval | Hours between replies to the same sender (e.g., 24) |

| From | Your name or business name |
| Subject | e.g., "Re: Your enquiry to Braysons Host" |

Sample Autoresponder Messages
Out-of-Office:Thank you for your email. I am currently out of the office from [date] to [date].
For urgent matters, please WhatsApp +254 733 338 989.
I will respond to your email on my return.
Best regards,
[Your Name]
Business Hours:
Thank you for contacting [Business Name].
We have received your message and will respond within 1 business day.
Our business hours are Monday–Friday, 8 AM–6 PM EAT.
For immediate assistance, WhatsApp us at +254 733 338 989.
Step 3 — Set Start and Stop Dates (Optional)
For a time-limited autoresponder (e.g., holiday period):
- Check Start and set the start date/time
- Check Stop and set the end date/time
The autoresponder will activate and deactivate automatically.
Step 4 — Save
Click Create/Modify to save the autoresponder.
Disabling an Autoresponder
Return to Email → Autoresponders, find the autoresponder, and click Delete.
