Hosting Multiple Websites with Addon Domains

An addon domain lets you host a completely separate website under your existing cPanel account. Each addon domain has its own public_html folder, databases, and email accounts.

When to Use Addon Domains

  • You run an agency and host client websites
  • You own multiple business brands
  • You want a separate website for a product or campaign

Step 1 — Ensure Your Plan Supports Addon Domains

Check your hosting plan:

  • Free Plan: 0 addon domains
  • Starter Plan: 1 addon domain
  • Business Plan: Unlimited addon domains

Upgrade if needed from your client portal.

Step 2 — Add the Domain in cPanel

  1. Log into cPanel
  2. Go to Domains → Domains
  3. Click Create a New Domain
  4. Enter the domain name (e.g., secondbusiness.co.ke)
  5. The document root will auto-fill (e.g., public_html/secondbusiness.co.ke)
  6. Click Submit

Step 3 — Point the Domain to Your Server

If the addon domain is registered elsewhere:

  1. Log into that domain's registrar
  2. Update nameservers to ns1.braysons.net and ns2.braysons.net
  3. Wait for DNS propagation (2–48 hours)

Step 4 — Upload the Second Website

  1. In File Manager, navigate to the addon domain's document root
  2. Upload your website files there
  3. Install SSL via SSL/TLS Status → Run AutoSSL

Managing Addon Domain Emails

Each addon domain can have its own email accounts. Go to Email → Email Accounts and select the addon domain from the dropdown when creating accounts.
